Working Off Those Extra Calories From Thanksgiving

Sorry for the lack of blog posts these past few days. I decided to fully relax over Thanksgiving, and take a break from writing my blog. I think I enjoyed Thanksgiving too much. I was feeling all the extra calories, when I got up this morning.

It was time to burn off some of those extra calories by working out. I chose to do a Threshold workout on my bike.  It was a challenging workout that included six intervals at just below FTP power. Each interval was eight minutes long, so I rode at threshold effort for a total of 48 minutes, in my ninety minute workout.

This was also the first ride I did with the new RAD cycling training desk, that I got for my birthday.  This desk is great value for money (it is available on Amazon) and I love it.  I don’t know why I didn’t get one sooner.

The workout was tough, but I was able to distract myself by watching the England versus USA, World Cup game.  It was interesting to note that my power spiked upwards every time the game got exciting. My power sometimes jumped by as much as 50 Watts, without me even realizing it, until I looked at my computer screen again.

All in all, it was good to be back on the bike and it felt good to burn a few calories too.
