What triathlon based gift did you get? This year, there were no big triathlon related items that I wanted, so I wasn’t expecting any of my gifts to be triathlon based. I was therefore surprised to get two things, that will help me in my favorite sport.
The first gift was a pair of new swim goggles from Roka. I have wanted to try this particular goggle for quite a while, so I was especially pleased. I tried them out on my swim this afternoon and I quite like them. It took me quite a while to get them adjusted so they didn’t leak, but I eventually solved that issue. I then suffered a little with the lenses fogging up, but I think that will be easily fixed with some baby shampoo.
My second gift was a book. It is a cookbook written by Olympic Steeplechaser, Emma Coburn. The book is called “The Runner’s Kitchen”. I am increasingly interested in nutrition, so this was also a great gift. I got to test out this gift today too. My wife made Maple Turmeric Chicken Thighs from the book for dinner tonight. They were delicious. They even made a nice photograph for today’s blog.
Triathlon based gifts are always fun to get. Mine were a little different this year. Even though they were not as expensive as my gift two years ago, I really like them both.
