I was hungry after my two hour bike ride on the trainer this morning, so I decided to treat myself to pancakes for breakfast.
No ordinary pancakes, however. I made Kodiak Power Cakes. They taste just like regular pancakes, but are made from whole grain ingredients and include whey protein. I add an egg and make them with milk, to boost their nutritional value even more.
That meal in the photograph has 40g of protein, 100g of carbohydrate and 25g of fat. That’s a pretty well balanced meal for recovery from a workout.
Overall, my goal of eating healthier this week has been going well. I have managed to completely avoid all the junk food and chocolate at work, which is a huge win for me. I am also avoiding the late night snacks and am feeling great as a result.
I have a rest day tomorrow, so no more workouts this weekend. I need to go make the most of it; come the summer, I’ll be way busier with long rides and runs!!
Quick footnote : My website is pretty basic right now. I chose to start sharing first, rather than spending time making the website complete before launching the blog.
