As you can tell from several of my blog posts in the past few weeks, like this one, I am currently focussing heavily on swimming. While searching the internet for videos on swim technique this morning, I came across a video of Lukasz Wojt swimming at Ironman Copenhagen last year. It was a stunning swim and beautiful to watch.
Lukasz completed a legitimate Ironman swim distance of 2.4 miles in just 43:57. Yes, you read that correctly… less than 44 minutes. To be fair, Lukasz is a former Olympic swimmer, but that swim is still amazingly fast.
The video linked above is from Effortless Swimming and in it, Brenton Ford does an analysis of Lukasz’s technique. I am never going to be able to swim like Lukasz Wojt, but there is always something you can learn from the very best. There is a lot of talk about breathing technique in the video and this is something I have been working hard on these past few weeks.
It is easy to get a little frustrated or downhearted, when looking at how easy the very best swimmers make things look, but remember, there is always opportunity to improve. Focusing on improvement and not absolute results, will result in better results down the road.
