We were blessed with really nice weather this Christmas Eve in Pittsburgh. The weather was so good, that I couldn’t resist heading out to the trails at the local park. What was even better was that I got to run in shorts.
My Facebook feed today included a number of photographs from a year ago. All of them showed that we had snow on the ground in Pittsburgh. While I like a good White Christmas like everyone else, cold runs are not always fun. My run today was fun.
I had spent the morning doing various things around the house, and was just itching to go run. I haven’t run since last Saturday due to an IT band issue. Fortunately, my leg has heeled quickly and was all good to go.
I ran one of my favorite trails at North Park; the Orange loop. Normally this loop is very quiet, but with the weather being so good, I actually came across several hikers and mountain bikers during my run today. My legs were feeling fresh, and I actually completed the loop in record time. I didn’t even feel like I was pushing the pace. Maybe it was the fact that I could run in shorts at this time of the year, that made my run so good.
P.S. I will take a day off from my blog tomorrow, to celebrate Christmas Day with my family. I’ll be back on Sunday.
