No workout today and so after completing a not so quick fix to the toilet in our powder room, I had time to work on my bike upgrade.
It’s coming along, albeit slowly. Today I was able to install both brakes and the aerobars. I put the extensions on but they need trimming and that requires a new hacksaw blade.
I also managed to start routing the internal cables. This is always a fun task. It never seems to go perfectly smoothly, but I am getting better at it. I completed the routing of the cable housing for both brakes. The routing for the rear brake is going to be so much better with this set up. When finished, I won’t have the cable housing sticking out of the side of the frame. This was one thing that always annoyed me about the OEM setup of my Cervelo P2.
Next up will be cutting the extensions down to size and routing of the shifter cables. Once that is done, I’ll be almost there. My goal is to get everything done in the next two weeks.
Once it’s all installed, I am planning on getting a new bike fit, so that this new front end is as comfortable and as aero, as I can make it.
I’m already getting excited for Spring to arrive, so I can try it all out outside …
Quick footnote : My website is pretty basic right now. I chose to start sharing first, rather than spending time making the website complete before launching the blog. I’m looking forward to building the website over time into a useful resource for you .. just another part of my ‘life’ that you will get to read about.
