When it comes to speed on the bike … we are all looking to get faster.
In reality, the single most effective thing you can do to increase speed on the bike, is to get a good bike fit. Combine that with working hard, and you will capture most of the speed that you are likely to get on the bike.
That said, there is always the possibility for some additional ‘marginal gains’. I cannot afford to upgrade my Cervelo P2 to a ‘super bike’, so I decided to try and make my P2, as close to a ‘super bike’ as possible. That starts with a cockpit upgrade and I was lucky enough to get this amazing set up from TriRig.
What you see is the Alpha One Aerobars, the Gamma extensions and a pair of Omega X brakes. I am so excited to get them fitted and try them out. Just a couple of problems with that… it’s going to take me a while to fit them, but given it’s winter, it will likely take me even longer to get outside and try them out.
Over the next day or two, I’ll swap out my P2, for my road bike on the trainer and get started on the project of upgrading the P2. I’m hoping to share some updates along the way.
Quick footnote : My website is pretty basic right now. I chose to start sharing first, rather than spending time making the website complete before launching the blog. I’m looking forward to building the website over time into a useful resource for you .. just another part of my ‘life’ that you will get to read about.
