No … that’s not a spelling error.
Riplaces are my favorite brand of speed laces for my running shoes. They come in different sizes, so you can customize the fit. I also find that they have enough elasticity to ensure a comfortable fit, even when your feet swell during a longer run. Oh and of course they come in a variety of colors; you have to make sure that you don’t ruin the fashion statement you make with your shoes!!
The shoes are Asics Gel-DS Trainer 24. The Gel-DS Trainer is my ‘race shoe’ for anything over 10k. They are very light weight, but have enough cushion that my feet can survive the longer run. This particular pair will be the shoes that I will use at IM Chattanooga 7.3 in May.
For training runs, I use Asics Gel-Kayano. The Gel-Kayano has more cushion and I find this helps prevent my legs from getting too beat up. I have been running in the Gel-Kayano since I started way back in 2014. Over the years, I have tried many different shoes but always come back to the Kayano for training runs.
Finally. the good news is that my foot injury continues to improve. I’m hoping to take out these new Gel-DS Trainer shoes for a test run on Thursday.
Quick footnote : My website is pretty basic right now. I chose to start sharing first, rather than spending time making the website complete before launching the blog. I’m looking forward to building the website over time into a useful resource for you .. just another part of my ‘life’ that you will get to read about.
