There is always more to learn when it comes to racing and coaching triathlon. I will hopefully have plenty of down time during our upcoming trip to Colorado. I will use this extra time on vacation, to read about the use of power meters for cycling.
I have used a power meter on my bike for three years now. I have enjoyed training and racing with it. I think I am reasonably knowledgeable when it comes to using a power meter, but I don’t know what I don’t know. I am therefore planning to read the “bible” on this topic… Training and Racing with a Power Meter by Hunter Allen, Andrew Coggan and Stephen McGregor.
In skimming through the book, it is clear that it contains some very detailed information. This read is going to be one where I will need to concentrate. I must make sure I absorb the information in each chapter, before moving on.
The book ends with a chapter called ‘Racing Faster with a Power Meter’. At the end of the day, that is what we all want to do… race faster. Hopefully, by the end of my vacation, I will be a little more educated on how to do that!
