I always leave it too long, before buying new running socks. Then one day, I suddenly realize that all of the running socks I own, have become a little hard and lack elasticity. That happened to me this morning.
I got up early for my run and grabbed a pair of socks out of the drawer. I think I happened to grab a very old pair, and when I was putting them on, I noticed how old they were. I went back to the drawer for another pair, and that second pair was old too. I decided I need to invest in some new ones.
I guess running socks are highly personal. I have tried several brands, but have had a lot of success with a brand called Feetures. These socks are anatomically designed, with specific zones of compression. They are designed by a runner for runners. The also have seamless toes and I find them very comfortable. Best of all, I have had good luck with them when it comes to blisters, which I rarely get.
I have always bought the ‘no-show’ length socks, but this time around, I am going to also buy some crew length socks for trail running. That extra coverage of the ankle, should help provide a little protection, against things like thorns and poison ivy.
It’s time to go do a little online shopping !!!
