Investing Time To Become A Better Coach

Using time to become a better coach, is a great investment.  It not only allows me to provide a better service to my athletes, but it also helps me become a better athlete too.

USAT Triathlon holds an education event each year called the Endurance Exchange.  It used to be an in person event, but it has gone virtual for the past two years.  The great thing about it being a virtual event, is that all of the presentations are recorded and available ‘on demand’.

I am starting to work my way through all of these presentations.  They cover some great topics.  Here are just a few that are available.

  • A Qualitative Overview of Methodologies of Periodization Used By Elite Endurance Coaches & Academics
  • Athlete Case Studies: Addressing Athlete Challenges
  • Coach Athlete Collaboration: A conversation with Ian O’Brien and Taylor Knibb
  • Coaching Special Olympics and Populations
  • High Performance Aging
  • Improving Biomechanics in Swimming for Injury Prevention, Increased Speed and Improved Efficiency
  • Programming Interval Training to Optimize Endurance Sport Performance
  • Staying at the Forefront of Sports Science: From Bench Research to Breaking2
  • Swim FASTER
  • Triathlon Training with Power

I think you will agree that these are some great topics.  I know I will learn a lot, and hopefully be a better coach as a result.
