I started this website just under two years ago, with some simple goals. To share my triathlon journey, and by doing so, hopefully inspire others on their journey. The site had a lot of visitors today.
Part of my journey are the races that I do, and so sharing race reports, has been part of the website from the beginning.
I noticed today that it is only 25 days until the 2021 Ironman Wisconsin takes place. The 2019 version of that race, was my most recent full Ironman race and I wrote a detailed report of my day.
I know that when race day is getting close, a lot of the entrants start to get nervous. This got me thinking about how I might do a small thing to help someone calm their nerves. I came up with the idea of sharing a link to my race report on the Ironman Wisconsin Training Page on Facebook. So that is what I did.
I wasn’t sure what kind of reaction I would get. I just wanted to share my experience, because that just happened to be a fantastic experience. The 2019 Ironman Wisconsin race is my favorite Ironman race so far.
Looking at the statistics for my website this evening, it is clear that a lot of people have read my race report. I really hope that some of the visitors to my website, who may be a bit nervous about their race on September 12th, feel a little bit more excited as a result of their visit. If that has happened, then work to share my triathlon journey will have been worth it.
