Later this week I will be back in Chattanooga. I am not going there to race this time, but to help coach at the C26 Triathlon Camp.
This will be the first time that I will attend a C26 camp as a coach, instead of being a participant. It is going to be a very different experience, being on the other side of the fence, as it were. I am really looking forward to it.
This particular camp is known as the ‘Technical’ camp. This is because the focus will be on instruction and the technical aspects of triathlon. The volume of the workouts will be less than other camps, but coaching and feedback will be increased.
Some of the things being covered at the camp are a swim analysis; swimming in open water; overcoming open water fears and anxiety; bike fit; bike tests; run form; run testing and mental toughness. There will be four coaches at the camp, so the coach to athlete ratio is excellent.
In addition to the coaching aspect of the camp, I am really looking forward to interacting with some old friends, who will be attending. I am also looking forward to making new friends, and to helping build our C26 community.
