When it comes to running, what is perfect weather? I am sure it differs slightly for everyone, but the conditions for my long run this morning, were perfect for me.
The temperature was around 50’F. I was able to wear a short sleeved top and shorts. This combination enabled me to stay warm, but not get hot. It also helped that there was no wind during my 75 minutes on the trail. Most of all however, the sight of an endless, deep blue sky, just made the day amazing.
My legs were a little tired from our hiking yesterday. After a mile or so however, they warmed up nicely. This run was a little longer than most I have done on vacation so far, but it felt great. My pace was also a little quicker, even though I kept my effort quite low.
The weather forecast is the same for tomorrow, but I am choosing to take a rest day from running. I have been on a pretty good running streak while away from home, and I don’t want to push it too hard. I am trying to keep my legs fresh. With no biking or swimming to provide cross training, I just have to be a little careful. I think however, I will find other ways to enjoy this perfect running weather.
