Today was a rest day. No workouts were on my schedule. That didn’t mean that I wasn’t active. The weather in Pittsburgh ensured that I would be outside, shoveling snow.
We have had quite a lot of snow here in Pittsburgh over the past week or so. This has meant lots of extra workouts moving snow from our driveway and sidewalks. We have a snow thrower, but there are still places where I need to use a shovel.
I think it always helps to keep moving on rest days. Obviously doing anything strenuous doesn’t make sense, because I am supposed to be resting. Just sitting around doing nothing, is not good either though. Shoveling snow can be hard work, but I was careful to not do too much. The snow thrower helps a lot.
A simple walk is often the best thing for a rest day, especially if I am able to go walk somewhere like a State Park. Unfortunately that was not an option today. Maybe next time…
