As I mentioned in my blog yesterday, today was a double run day. I split my two hour run, into two separate, one hour runs, that were done six hours apart from each other.
My run this morning was in downtown Pittsburgh, with the City of Bridges Run Club. The run was a fund raiser for one of the club members. She is doing a relay run from Washington DC to New York, in support of children with Down’s Syndrome. It was a great run. It was also nice to be able to donate funds through a raffle and by buying drinks after the run.
After resting for most of the day, I went to the local park at about 4.00pm, for my second run. The sun was shining for this second run and this seemed to lift my spirits. I felt strong and ran one of my faster long runs in quite a while. The faster pace seemed to come quite easily. This made the run both enjoyable and rewarding. It felt great to run so fast, especially after already running seven miles, earlier in the day.
My double run day has been a huge success. Now I need to rest up for my long ride on the trainer tomorrow.
