I have a very soft core … and I have made it one of my 2020 goals, to address that issue.

I am convinced that the lack of strong core muscles, is one thing that is holding back my performance in races. I think this is especially so in long distance races, where it comes into play on the run.  

I have been telling myself that I need to do something about this for the past two years and yet I have done nothing.  I am determined to change that this year and have already started down that road.

My coach has me doing planks and side planks and started me off with 3 repeats of 45 seconds for side planks and a minute for regular planks.  This doesn’t sound much but trust me, my weak core is struggling with them.  I got though them today and just collapsed at the end … hence today’s photo. 

I have a long way to go but this year I will get there!!!

Quick footnote :  My website is pretty basic right now.  I chose to start sharing first, rather than spending time making the website complete before launching the blog.  I’m looking forward to building the website over time into a useful resource for you .. just another part of my ‘life’ that you will get to read about.
