What an exhausting week. Last week I only managed to find time to complete one run workout. Despite the lack of training, I know that I did a huge amount of work. We needed to get our house ready to put on the market for sale, and this involved a lot of work.
Over the past seven days, it seems like I have reviewed every one of our possessions and then decided to do one of three things. Leave it in place while we sell the house; move it to a storage area in our basement or get rid of it (sell, donate or trash it). An awful lot of our possessions ended up in our basement.
When something needed to go to the basement, it meant carrying it down one or two flights of stairs. I didn’t wear my Garmin for most of the week, because I didn’t want to damage it. One day, I did leave it on however, because I was curious how many flight of stairs I was descending and climbing. That day my watch registered 55 flights of stairs down and 55 up. That meant I did hundreds over the course of the week.
Up… Down…Up…Down…Up…Down… Again and Again !!
With all that up and down, it really was an exhausting week. I did run on Tuesday, when I completed a tempo run at the local High school.
This week, we are in Denver, where we are beginning our search for a new home. Today, exactly a week after my last run, I was able to find time to go for a run. It was fabulous to run again, and the views were amazing (as can be seen from the photo above). I just went exploring and ended up running over ten miles.
This week is going to be busy too, so I’m not sure how many more times I can run. I should be able to fit in a couple more runs, and I can’t wait for that. Training is going to be tough over the next few months because of other priorities. That is fine by me. In the end, I’ll be living in a great location and an awesome place to work out.
