It is hard to write a blog post about triathlon, when you spend a day hiking in the beautiful Rocky Mountains.
My wife and I visited Rocky Mountain National Park again today. This time we entered the park through Estes Park, drove around for a while, and then went on a hike.
The hike was another good workout. For some reason, hiking always involves significant elevation gain here in the Rockies!! Our hike today was relatively short. We covered three miles and gained about 700 feet of elevation.
Being high in the mountains again, meant that breathing was a little more labored than normal. This is a good thing however, because I will be getting the benefits of altitude training.
The weather tomorrow is going to be significantly colder. I don’t think we will be hiking in the Rocky Mountains. Instead we will explore some of the small towns in the foothills. I will also be able to get in a good run.
