For the past two years in June, I have attended the C26 Triathlon training camp in Nashville, TN. I am going again this year.
The training camp consists of four days of swim, bike and run workouts. There will be about 25 attendees and almost 20 of those people are returning from prior years. That return rate, should tell you how much fun this camp is.
The Nashville area has some fantastic places to train. We will swim in Percy Priest Lake at Andersen Road Beach. We will bike on the Natchez Trace, bike and run on the old airport runways at Cornelia Fort Airpark and run at Percy Warner Park. Our workouts will mostly be hard efforts, and it will be hot.
This sounds tough and it is, but we take plenty of rest breaks, which allows us to meet and hangout with our fellow camp mates. This is what really makes the camp worthwhile. The people are great and we all share a love of triathlon. There are so many stories to share and things to learn. It’s the people, that I keep going back for.
I need to leave early tomorrow morning, to drive to Nashville, in time for our camp dinner. This meant packing up the car tonight. It always amazes me how much stuff that I end up taking with me. Fortunately, I have a decent size car.
My blog over the next few days, should give you an insight into our camp, and I’m planning to write up a full camp report to share. If you have never been to a triathlon camp before, I hope what I write will encourage you to attend one in the future. Stay tuned; the next few days will be fun.
