I am feeling very fatigued this evening. I did three workouts today. My coach didn’t schedule me for a triple workout day; it just turned into one.
My coach scheduled me for a swim and a run today. It was a project in our garden, that turned my day into a triple workout day. Although not a typical workout for triathlon, moving and spreading six yards of mulch, is very much a workout.
Spreading that mulch took my wife and I about five hours to complete. We took lots of mini breaks, because it was very hot (real feel over 100’F). We also had breaks late afternoon, when a couple of small thunderstorms passed through. Still, despite the breaks, it was hard work.
So I had a swim, mulch, run day. We swam first thing this morning, did the mulching, and as evening rolled around, it was time for my run. I seriously considered not doing the run. I didn’t want to put myself in a hole for upcoming workouts. Tomorrow however, is a lighter day from a workout perspective, so I made the decision to go run.
The run was hard and I got very hot. I am glad that I went however, because I was pleased with how my body responded. It was one of my better interval runs of the year.
It therefore turned out to be an unusual workout day, but a good one. The garden looks great. and I feel happy with my training. Have you ever done something equally crazy?
