When it comes to nutrition, I try to eat healthy, but I am not obsessive about it. I am comfortable eating the occasional ‘unhealthy’ meal and having an alcoholic drink now and then. I also like to give myself a treat.
I am feeling good about training this week. I have had great bike and run sessions. Last night, I had a fun ride in North Park with Pittsburgh Triathlon Club. This morning, the sun is shining and I’ll be able to swim outside at our neighborhood pool.
I was feeling so good last night, that I gave myself a treat. I had ice cream. It was not exactly the worst thing to eat, especially when I had it with a bowl of fresh fruit. I also had a couple of glasses of wine.
It is important to remember, that for almost all of us, triathlon is not a job. We don’t have to religiously follow a strict diet, in order to enjoy our sport. It is important to give yourself a treat occasionally, and I did that last night.
