My next race will be Ironman 70.3 Musselman on July 10th. I designated this race, as a ‘A’ race at the start of the year, so it is very important to me.
I did Ironman 70.3 Musselman last year. You can read about my race here. I had an excellent race and really enjoyed the course and host city. It was therefore not hard to decide to do the race again this year. It also helps that it is one of the closest 70.3 races to Pittsburgh.
The race is six weeks away, so I will have one more big block of training to get through to prepare. The one thing that concerns me right now, is pool availability. The pool where I normally swim, is still closed for repairs. It will be closed all of this week and maybe for longer. I have to find alternative places to swim. I will even drive up to the lake, that is 45 minutes away, if I have to.
This evening, I went on an easy group ride with the Pittsburgh Triathlon Club. I was a lot of fun and my legs are fully recovered after the race I did this past weekend. I have a solid run session to do tomorrow, and I am looking forward to that.
Just writing about this upcoming race has me excited. I am sure, the next six weeks will fly by and I’ll be on the start line in Geneva, NY, before I know it.
