I had a very busy day today, and with all my non-triathlon commitments, I had to have excellent time management to fit in my workout.
Some days, you just have a lot of things going on. When this happens, you have to make some adjustments to your ideal training schedule. Today I had a two hour bike ride to get done. The weather was perfect for riding outside; the best day of the year so far. I rode on my trainer.
I chose to ride the trainer for two hours ,because that was the most efficient way to get my workout done. Riding outside takes a little more preparation time than riding the trainer. So, given my bike was already set up on the trainer from yesterday’s ride, all I had to do was grab a water bottle and some nutrition and go to work. This made riding the trainer a ‘no-brainer’ today.
I got the ride done just before lunchtime, had a quick shower, ate some lunch, and left for my afternoon commitment. I could have gotten up super early to do the ride, but I am trying to maximize my sleep right now, so chose to avoid that option.
After a very busy day today, tomorrow is basically wide open. It is going to be a hot day however, so I’ll either do my long run early morning, or in the evening. I haven’t decided yet.
