Triathlon race season is now starting to get into full swing, and tomorrow is the first full distance race of the season in Texas. There are a lot of C26 triathletes doing the race, so I will be busy tracking teammates.
I enjoy tracking teammates when they do a full Ironman race. It is a long day for them, and getting periodic updates on their progress, certainly brightens my day.
In addition to tracking teammates tomorrow, I will also be following the professional races in Texas. The fields are not that deep, with the World Championship in St. George only two weeks away, but there are still some good athletes participating.
In addition to this triathlon race, I am already tracking an ultramarathon that just started on the island of Madeira. I am getting more and more interested in ultrarunning, and this race has two of my favorite ultrarunners participating – Jim Walmsley and Courtney Dauwalter. As I write this, both are leading their respective races at the first checkpoint.
It is not the same as racing, but following friends and others in their races is the next best thing.
