Over the past few weeks, my wife and I, have really enjoyed joining the City of Bridges Run Club for their Saturday runs. They have been so much fun that we don’t want to miss the run tomorrow. The only problem is, that tomorrow is going to be really cold group run.
As you can see from the forecast above, even with partial sunshine, the temperatures will be in the single digits fas we gather to start the run. The runs normally start at 8.00am, but due to the extreme cold, we will be starting at 10.00am tomorrow.
These temperatures are similar to the Pittsburgh Marathon Training Kick-off Run we did a few weeks ago. On that day, I made a mistake with my choice of clothing, especially with my hands. I will not be making the same mistake tomorrow. I will double up on gloves right from the start. Removing a pair of gloves is an easy option, if I start to get too hot.
I suspect that I will not be cold for long tomorrow, because the route has quite a few hills. There is nothing quite like climbing hills to get the core temperature nice and toasty. So, even though it is forecast to be a really cold group run, I have a feeling that I might be struggling more with overheating, than cooling down. At least that is the plan!!
