I did my second aqua jogging workout tonight. This time, I didn’t lose a layer of skin from the bottom of my feet.
I wrote about my first ever aqua jogging workout on Monday. What I neglected to write about on Tuesday, was the damage I did to the soles of my feet. Aqua jogging after a hour of swimming, in bare feet, is a bad idea.
My feet were rubbed sore. Fortunately, I started to feel the soreness at bedtime and rubbed a ton of moisturizing cream onto them. I think that helped, because three days later, every is good.
Knowing I will be aqua jogging for a couple of weeks, I also made an investment into some pool shoes. Those attractive shoes in the photo cost me $9. Yes, you read that correctly; they were only $9 and were on my doorstep the next day, courtesy of Amazon Prime. They have got to be the cheapest piece of triathlon training equipment, I have ever bought.
Even better, I can report after tonight’s workout in the pool, that it was $9 well spent. The shoes worked great. Now hopefully, they are built well enough to withstand a couple of weeks of abuse…
Quick footnote : My website is pretty basic right now. I chose to start sharing first, rather than spending time making the website complete before launching the blog. I’m looking forward to building the website over time into a useful resource for you .. just another part of my ‘life’ that you will get to read about.
