When I woke up this morning, I had every intention of resuming my regular workout schedule. My coach had scheduled a straightforward, one hour bike workout and it was something I thought I could easily do. As it turned out however, I simply ran out of time to get it done.
Having returned home from our three week vacation in Colorado, there were obviously lots of things to be done around the house. We needed to get groceries to restock the fridge, there were bills to pay and a lot of yard work to do. The grass on our lawn was extremely long and it took me a very long time to mow and bag it.
I was planning on doing my bike workout late afternoon, but before I knew it, it was time for dinner and getting late. I had simply run out of time.
The thing is, missing this one workout doesn’t matter. An extra day away from my workout schedule isn’t going to hurt anything in the long run. This is especially true when the workout was a bike workout and in my next race, I will only swim and run…
