Now that the swelling around my leg injury has subsided, I have decided to begin some very gentle stretching and massaging to help with my recovery. I am actually massaging and stretching the muscles groups that surround my injured quad. I’m not actually going to work on that muscle, until it’s fully healed.
What made me decide to do something, was the fact that I can feel my IT band getting really tight. It was getting very noticeable at work today and I concluded that it needed to be addressed. So, I am working on not only my IT Band, but also my hamstrings, my hip flexors, my glutes and my calves.
Even though I was gentle and only spent a few minutes doing this, my leg felt so much better afterwards. I finished by icing the injury and settling down to watch TV…
This is likely going to be a slow recovery process, but at least today, I felt like I made progress.
Quick footnote : My website is pretty basic right now. I chose to start sharing first, rather than spending time making the website complete before launching the blog. I’m looking forward to building the website over time into a useful resource for you .. just another part of my ‘life’ that you will get to read about.
