My vacation in Colorado is over. My wife and I began our journey back to Pittsburgh today, and that means I will probably not workout for a few days.
We are taking a slightly longer route home, in order to go visit some places we have always wanted to see. This afternoon we visited Mount Rushmore. This was a seven hour drive, so by the time we had toured the monument, I was too tired to go for a run. We just ate dinner and went back to our hotel room.
In days gone by, I would struggle to accept that I could not workout. These days however, I realize that a few days off, really doesn’t hurt. In fact, it can sometimes help.
Who knows if I will get time to run tomorrow. We are planning an early start, so if I do run, it will be tomorrow evening. By then however, I might just feel like I did today. If that happens, so be it. Missing a few days of working out is OK.
