Over fifty C26 Triathlon coached athletes will be racing Ironman Chattanooga on Sunday. I have never raced with that many teammates before and it was great to hang out with many of them today.
About twenty of us met up at the Ironman village to check-in for the race together. Following that, a lot of us headed up to the Chickamauga Dam day use area, for a quick open water swim. I chose to swim in my wetsuit because it still looks like that is a race day possibility. I haven’t swum in my wetsuit for a couple of months, so I needed to remind myself how it felt. I had a great swim; the water was perfect.
This afternoon it was an open house at the C26 Hub. The place was full of athletes all afternoon. I saw more teammates and also met some new people, who knew about C26 and came to check out the Hub.
While at the Hub, I also sat down with Coach Mike and recorded a podcast. In this Coach Cast, we discussed Sunday’s race, how I prepared for it and provided tips about the course. You can check out the podcast here.
Tomorrow will be a quieter day, as I rest ahead of Sunday’s race. I’ll join my teammates for a short bike ride early in the morning and then we will have breakfast together. After that I’ll be on my own the think about and prepare for Sunday.
