I had another double workout day today. I was scheduled for a hard bike bike session and a forty five minute, Zone 2 run. Now that I am retired, I have all day to get these workouts done. Today, that was a problem however, because a lack of motivation, caused me to procrastinate all day.
Mid-afternoon arrived and I still hadn’t started a workout. I decided that it was time to get it done, so I went upstairs to change into my bike gear. Once I got upstairs however, I made the decision to take a few minutes to lie down on our bed. An hour and a half later, I woke up.
Now it was very late, and getting both workouts done, would mean a late dinner. I felt quite rejuvenated however, so I quickly got changed and went to the basement to get on my bike. The bike workout was tough, but I got it done. About ten minutes later, I headed out for my run and got that workout done too.
Overall it was a very strange day. I overcame a lack of motivation and all it required was an afternoon nap. It got me wondering if my lack of motivation, was just tiredness. I do know that my afternoon nap made a huge difference.
