Back At The Pool To Start My Next Training Block

This evening, I was back at the pool to start my next training block.  I was there to do an easy, 2,000 yard swim.  My workout schedule today was quite light because I was coming off my half marathon time trial.

As a result of my hard run, my legs were quite sore overnight.  This resulted in a poor night’s sleep.  It seemed like every time I turned over in bed, the soreness of my legs, woke me up. As a result, I have been quite tired all day.  A 2,000 yard easy swim was therefore, the perfect swim session.

When my coach gives me this particular workout, he always lets me chose exactly how I break up the 2,000 yards.  Today, I made my session very simple.  I put a pull buoy between my legs, and just cruised for 2,000 yards.  It turned out to be a very enjoyable swim.

As I look ahead to this week’s workouts, I see a 3 hour bike ride on Saturday.  Not wanting to to spend another three hours on my trainer, I have been keeping an eye on the weather forecast.  Things are looking good so far.  I might actually be able to ride outside this weekend.

Before that ride however, I have several runs and some shorter rides, that I will do on my trainer.  I’ll also be back at the pool, for two more swim sessions.  It’s good to be back in the routine of training.
