As I prepare for my event on Sunday, I am a little concerned that my legs will still be fatigued.  I have just finished a big training block, and am now tapering during a down week.  To help get ready for Sunday, I have been doing some gentle leg massage.  I hope that the rest and massage, will the preparation I need.

The reason that I am a little concerned, is that I had a short run workout today.  During that run, my legs felt quite sluggish.  Oftentimes, my legs feel sluggish at the start of a run, but then they get better.  Today they did not.

My coach had warned me that my legs might not fully recover until Friday.  I trust his judgement, and in this case I am thinking he is right.  Assuming he is, then I will be in great position to do my best on Sunday. I will be peaking at the right time.

I don’t have any high effort workouts remaining ahead of my event.  Just some activities to try and freshen up my legs.  I have a spin on the bike and some easy effort runs, with pickups.

Not much else to report today.  I’m off to do some more gentle leg massage.
